Semble annoncer un jour calme et serein.

Font oublier le céleste séjour.
Trouve un instant pour être solitaire
Dans la prière et dans l'amour.
3. Veille le soir, quand se fait le silence.
Pense aux bienfaits de ton céleste ami,
Cherche avec soin Sa divine présence,
Verse en Son cœur tout ton souci.
4. Veille toujours, en tous lieux, à toute heure,
Car l'ennemi te guette à chaque instant,
Pour se glisser dans la sainte demeure,
Où doit régner le Tout-Puissant.

Seems to announce a calm and serene day;
It’s in your heart that may thunder the tempest,
Which makes the pilgrim fall away.
Watch in the morn, watch in the night,
O watch and pray… always.
2. Watch at noonday, when the noises of the world
Cause you to forget the heav’nly dwelling.
Spend time alone with Jesus and in His word,
Meditate, praise Him with singing.
3. Watch in the eve, when everything seems silent,
Think of the blessings of your heav’nly friend;
Seek His holy presence that’ll make you radiant,
And cast onto Him your burden.
4. Watch all the time, everywhere and every hour,
For you are watched for by the enemy,
Who’s seeking to take the temple of honour,
Where must reign the Lord Almighty.
